Prof. Dr. Toni Janevski

Dr. Toni Janevski is a Professor in telecommunications at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technologies (FEEIT), Ss. Cyril and Methodius University (UKIM), Skopje, Macedonia. During 1996-1999 he worked for T-Mobile, Macedonia. From 1999 he is with FEEIT. During 2005-2008 he was Member of the Commission of the Agency for Electronic Communications (AEC) in Macedonia. During 2008-2016 he was Member of the Senate of UKIM, in two consecutive 4-year terms. In 2009 he has established an ITU Centre of Excellence (CoE) at FEEIT, as part of the Europe’s CoE network, and served as its head/coordinator in the period 2009-2022, in three consecutive ITU CoE cycles (2009-2014, 2015-2018 and 2019-2022).

He has received “Goce Delchev” state award for science in 2012, and “UKIM best scientists” award for 2013 (both can be received once in a lifetime).

He is the author of international books including “Traffic Analysis and Design of Wireless IP Networks”, published in 2003 by Artech House, USA; “NGN Architectures, Protocols and Services”, published in 2014 by Wiley, UK; “Internet Technologies for Fixed and Mobile Networks”, published in 2015 by Artech House, USA; as well as “QoS for Fixed and Mobile Ultra-Broadband”, published in 2019 by Wiley – IEEE Press, UK.

As an ITU expert he prepared the “Quality of service regulation manual”, published by the ITU in 2017. Also, he has published numerous research papers in the area of Internet technologies, mobile and wireless networks and services including 5G and beyond, Quality of Service (QoS) and security, Next Generation Networks (NGN), cloud computing, Internet of Things (IoT), and future networks.

He is a member from the Europe region in the ITU’s global GCBI (Group on Capacity Building Initiatives), elected for the term 2019-2022, and a second term for 2023-2026.

Prof. Dr. Toni Janevski has successfully tutored many international ITU Academy courses each year since 2009, and he continues to do so.
